Overview

Design an application for managing sales of chocolate distributors, The users have weekly meetings with regards to the sales that they have achieved so far in the week.

Introduction

The first step was to do research on how the sales team went about with the task which they are assigned to do. The sessions conducted were telephonic with 3 sales agents who works in a wholesale distribution network out of North Kerala. The session helped in generating the following mapping.

The questions asked were mostly with regards to how they feel with regards to the present sales methods that are followed, issues, and things that are positive about it. The empathy mapping and user emotion mapping is done as per the current scenario and working style that's followed by the organization.

The empathy map along with the weekly meeting schedule created Experience mapping which was divided into 4 parts, phases, actions, thoughts, and emotions.

The major pain points that were found were,

  • Achieving the sales target.

  • Managing payment and billing.

  • Managing the Work-life balance

Problem Statement.

"Sales agents struggle to achieve the weekly sales target because of lack of clarity in the number of sales, returns, orders, and payments done. The solution should make available all the data required quickly and easily that can help reduce the stress on the sales agents."

Ideation

MIndmapping was done to start off the ideation stage, The 3 factors were achieving the sales target, ease of billing and payments, and effectively using time. These three factors when combined can be helpful in reducing stress for the users.

With the screen flow diagram as the base, a wireframe model was made and had the first test was done. While the first mockup was being tested, if the same retailer is having a new order and delivery the user would have to do all those by going back to the home page and choose the next option. That would be creating issues with the UX so a new wireframe was done to compensate for that issue.

User feedback

The testing was done online with 2 UX designers,

  • I want to find out if if you can input delivery and add new orders using the wireframe.

  • I want to see if you can navigate with ease through my application.

  • I wanted to see if this can in anyway improve sales.

Issues found were,

  • Under the same shop f delivery and new orders come needed to go back to the home screen and then select the other tab.

  • The navigation had the major issue of the above said issue.

  • Having only the insight in new order might be ineffective. an over view of the full process need to be shown.
